Five Escape Games on This Site and How Each One Lets You Out
Published · Updated · 3 min read
The escape games on this site work in very different ways. Some are 3D escapes with a list of jobs to finish, one is a mining game with a prison wrapped around it, and two are choose-your-path cartoons. Below are five of them and what each one wants from you. Everything here comes from the games' own files: their menus, objective text and item lists.
Escape From School
This is a 3D game made by emolingo games, not a point-and-click room escape. It has three chapters and two more maps, and the menu asks you to pick where you are escaping from: the school or the prison. Each stage gives you a short task list. You might need to find three explosive items and place a bomb in three parts, collect five pieces of clothing and drop them in a basket, get a hammer, find all the pipes and the valve, or hit five targets to open a cage. One stage tells you to “Destroy the boss first!” You can punch and jump, and zooming the camera all the way in switches to first-person view. You can also make a private room and share its ID so friends can join you.
Escape From Spider
Here you have to get out of a house while a giant spider hunts you. It is also split into three chapters, and each chapter unlocks when you finish the one before. The tasks are about making the house work again: place the fuses, connect the cables, take a fuel can to the tanker, power the generator and ride the elevator out. Other tasks have you rebuild a glider. Scissors cut through spider webs and fences. Other items in the game include bear traps, a flare gun and speed boots. There are also online modes where one player becomes the spider and catches the others. The game times each escape and shows the result at the end.
Cube Miner: Escape From Prison
At the start you are caught stealing diamond apples again, and the prison makes inmates work in its mine. Someone at the prison shows you around. There is a food shop, a pickaxe shop, a place to sell what you dig up and a desk where you pay off your debt to unlock more of the game. Unlocking the elevator costs 512 dollars. Pack food before every trip, because you can starve in the mine. Your guide starts to mention a Super-pickaxe and then changes the subject, which tells you how you will eventually get out.
Breaking the Bank and Stealing the Diamond
These two belong to the Henry Stickmin series by PuffballsUnited, which started on Newgrounds. At each step you choose from a few options, and the wrong ones end in a short failure scene. In Breaking the Bank, Henry tries to get into a bank, and his options include a teleporter, a laser drill and a tunnel. Stealing the Diamond has more than one way to end. Its medal list names an Undetected Ending, an Aggressive Ending and an Epic Ending, and there are separate medals just for failing (Fail Champion and Failtastic). Pick the options that look ridiculous too. Watching the failures is a big part of the fun. Both games were later remastered, along with the rest of the series, in The Henry Stickmin Collection.
The other escapes on the shelf
The site also has Escape From Scary Teacher, Scary Teacher Hide and Seek, School Escape, Noob: Zombie Prison Escape and Stickman Escape. Each one has its own page with its controls. We have left them out here until we have checked them as closely as the five above.
